I love to capture what I think of as transient beauty - subjects that are undoubtedly beautiful today but have little hope of sustaining that physical beauty over time. I love the idea of photographing a flower that perhaps no other human being will ever witness, on a day that can never repeat itself. In my photograph, it may live beyond my own years.

I'm passionate about the things I photograph.  I always have been.

I love the process of photography - the life of the photograph - from envisioning an image to taking the shot.  From developing the photo to printing, to picking out a frame and finally seeing it all put together as a work of art.  When it's all done it's no longer just for me, but something I can share with others.

I think that being passionate about something often creates the desire to share that passion with other people.  For me, that passion naturally means sharing my photographic work, whether it be in the form of galleries on my website for the world to see, as gifts to my friends and family, or as items for sale right here.

Only my absolute favorite images end up here - though each is a favorite for different reasons. What I like about any given image often has a lot to do with what it took to achieve the shot. With some, it's just a pleasant reminder of another time and place. Whatever the circumstances, these are images I want to share with you.

Ultimately, each of these photographs is a fond memory for me and, as such, something (for me, at least) to smile about.
